V9 Custom Builders: Moto Guzzi specials Made in the USA

We members of Proud Owners know only too well that there are very few things in life more satisfying than jumping on our Moto Guzzis and heading off on a trip with the symphonic roar of the engine for company. One of those things is to do it on a bike whose every little detail truly reflects our personality. That’s why customizing their bikes is such a popular pastime amongst the guys who love the marvels produced in Mandello del Lario, particularly and above all in the USA where they have a long-standing and passionately-felt tradition of customizing both cars and bikes.

It’s precisely this passion for customization that inspired the Moto Guzzi Americas project whereby four of the USA’s best custom builders were selected in 2017 to take part in the V9 Pro Build project and were presented with a truly exciting challenge. The challenge in question was to take the “V9 Platform” (either the Bobber or the Roamer version) and to highlight its features to the hilt to create four truly unique custom bikes, the main aim being to emphasize the Moto Guzzi V9’s natural strengths, namely its personality, style and dynamic lines.

The challenge was thrown down, so let’s go and find out who took up this challenge and what these polished steel magicians came up with.

UNTITLED MOTORCYCLES: HUGO’S “FAT TRACKER”
Our trip begins on the West Coast of the USA, at Hugo Eccles’Untitled Motorcycles” in San Francisco. Hugo and his team, who also run a branch in London, are famous for a number of truly unique custom builds that have attracted the attention of some of the major biking websites around the world (Bike EXIF, Cycle World and Jay Leno’s Garage).

For the V9 Pro Build project Hugo built the “UMC-052 Fat Tracker”, a flat-tracker with fat tires that the builder himself says “is great fun and makes you want to jump on and ride it”. The result is a solid-steel “Eagle” designed both for long trips and running around town. If you’d like to find out more about this amazing custom bike we suggest that you read through the interview with Hugo, which you will find at the link below, and also view the pictures of this beauty in the photo gallery.
