Here in the community we have many Guzzi-fan friends, but there’s one association in particular out there with which we share our passion and values and which has, since 2002, before the advent of Proud Owners, been gathering together “Eagle” fans from around the globe, wherever you hear the roar of a Moto Guzzi.
WHAT IS THE MGWC?
The Moto Guzzi World Club is an Association that has, since 2002, been bringing together owners of “Eagle of Mandello” models from every era, be they road bikes, competition bikes or military derived ones. The club invites its members to really delve into the life and history of the Moto Guzzi brand by organising public initiatives, events and rallies open to all Moto Guzzis.
We in particular have been hosted at their events on numerous occasions and we have included stories of those events in our 2017 Trip Diary. That’s why, with the new biking season knocking at the door, we want to invite all those of you who love the “Eagles of Mandello” as much as we do to keep an eye on the schedule of Moto Guzzi World Club events and rallies, which you will find on the website http://motoguzziworldclub.it/
ALL OFF TO RIETI WITH PROUD OWNERS TO ATTEND THE SOLIDARITY MEETING
The most important scheduled event of the 2018 MGWC season is the Solidarity Gathering, to be held in Rieti in central Italy from 4 to 6 May. Us guys from Proud Owners will obviously be there!
This rally is a pretty major and unique feature of this season, so much so that it is set to combine the efforts of the earlier “Moto Guzzi World” and “Mediterranean Area” events to those of the “Guzzi Cavaliers of Malta” to breathe life into an unprecedented 3-day rally of Guzzi passion right in the heart of the Italian Region most badly hit by the recent wave of earthquakes.
After this event, part of the entrance fees collected will be donated to assist with the reconstruction and re-development of the Town of Amatrice, the town that has become a symbol of the problems associated with the seismic activity in central Italy.
